Name: Goldenrod Soldier Beetle
Location found: Maplewood Nature Center
Interesting facts: They are also known as "Pennsylvania Leatherwings". They are a relative of fireflies.
Notes: We see a lot of these whenever we hike in prairie areas. They are always on prairie flowers.
